DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a California company has agreed to stop marketing real estate documents to Iowa residents.
A news release from the office of Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller says LA Investor Inc. does business as Local Records Office. Miller's office says the company employs official-sounding mailings and language in selling what it calls "property profiles" that include copies of deeds.
Miller's office says the property documents are available free or for a small charge from Iowa county offices.
In the agreement, the company and its owner deny any wrongdoing.
A company representative didn't immediately return a call Tuesday from The Associated Press.
