The College World Series brings fans from all over the country, and this year, business in the Old Market is booming.

They are really going through the purple enamel at Perspectives Jewelry. The store is licensed to make CWS baseball charms and this is just fine with Russ Van Brunt.

Russ Van Brunt, an LSU fan says, "We're very impressed wih what we see and in fact we're transacting a deal now to buy an LSU charm and both football and baseball."

These locally made pieces are a big part of the stores business.

Sheila Powell, Innovations Jewelry says, "We do a direct mailing to the moms and we customize the pendants so we get a lot of foot traffic from the mothers of the players and we get repeat customers that come in and visit".

Across the market at Ted and Wally's Ice Cream they love the CWS, but...

Joseph Pittack, Ted and Wally's "just kind of another week in the summer time just another crowd of people rolling through the door"

That said, this weekend the fans hit them hard enough that they ran out of chocolate.

Samantha Mainieri is picking up a treat for her son Holden, the grandson of the LSU coach.

The Candy Store gets a lot of business from CWS fans, but owner Jeff Jorgensen says some have the perception that it's just too difficult to get around.

Jeff Jorgensen, Old Market Candy Shop "it's really not crowded downtown. We've had a lot of events in fact last year we actually had the college world series overlapping the Olympic swim trials and there was plenty of parking. It's really almost a normal day parking downtown".

Jorgensen says a lot of fans stay downtown and walk much of the time. Russ Van Brunt backs him up.

Russ Van Brunt, LSU Fan says "You don't even need a vehicle you can just walk around town for days and days and days and see all kinds of activities and restaurants."
