Council Bluffs police are looking for a man described as armed and dangerous responsible for four Sunday morning robberies or attempted robberies.
Officers called for to the Eddy's gas station/convenience store on East Broadway near Nicholas Street around 12:45 a.m. say a man entered with panty hose covering his face, pointed a gun at a customer near the counter and ordered the clerk to give him what was in the cash register. After receiving the money, the suspect ran from the business.
Less than an hour later at 1:37 a.m., the same man allegedly robbed the Kwik Shop near North 16th Street and Avenue G at gunpoint. At 2:07 a.m., the suspect tried to rob the Microtel Inn near South 35th Street and 23rd Avenue, but could not get through a locked security door and fled.
About 15 minutes later, he tried again at the Speedee Mart on 9th Avenue just east of Interstate 29. The clerk was in a glass-secured area and dropped to the floor. The suspect again ran off empty-handed.
The suspect is described as being in his 20s wearing a black shirt, black cargo pants, black gloves and carrying a red duffel bag. Anyone with information about the suspect or robberies is asked to to call Crime Stoppers at 712-328-7867.
