Rep. Lee Terry has more competition. Omaha businessman Dan Frei is running for Congress.
Frei, a Republican, will challenge Terry for the party nomination.
In a statement announcing his candidacy, Frei says Washington is broken.
An online video on his campaign Facebook page attacks 'career politicians' for burying the country in debt. Frei promises to be different.
"I am more concerned about the next generation than the next election."
The father of four has a background in business technology. He is currently working as Vice President for The Kingston Training Group.
Frei says his campaign will focus on "restoring our freedoms, creating an environment that fosters opportunities for everyone, and bringing principled leadership to bear on our problems."
The businessman is the second person this year to challenge Congressman Terry. Omaha City Council President Pete Festersen- a Democrat- announced his bid in mid-October.
While Rep. Terry has not officially announced a bid for re-election, his office tells WOWT 6 News they're seeing very strong fundraising numbers. Last quarter Rep. Terry raised $338,000 dollars.
