Business Sprayed With Bullets

A La Vista construction company was sprayed with bullets and the owner is worried it may not be a random act. He's offering a hefty reward to help find the shooter.

“Pane of glass shot here, we have one above shot out.” Six rounds from a .357-magnum were fired into the lobby of Falewitch Construction Services at 114th and Giles sometime after employees left about noon on Saturday, May 5th.

The bullets shot into the lobby fragmented, which means had someone been sitting or standing at the front desk they would have been hit. Tamara Rager usually sits behind the reception desk. “I'm thankful I wasn't here at the time because it is scary. Something could hit you, you see it in the news all the time.

An investigator suspects the shots came from a stopped vehicle. “All six shots grouped in this area solely at this business,” said Sarpy County Sheriff’s Department Detective Matt Barrall. “None of the other businesses on the north or south were struck."

The company owner can't think of anyone with a grudge or fired employee who might have fired the shots. “I want my people to come to work and feel safe,” said John Falewitch. “We live in a great neighborhood and community and I want to find out who did it."

Repairs from the shooting cost $5,000, but Falewitch will spend even more on a camera system to discourage or catch a vandal with a gun.

Falewitch is putting up a $5,000 reward that leads to the arrest of anyone involved in firing shots at his building. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sarpy County Crimestoppers.at 592-STOP or 592-7867.
