Omaha police say they received the tip they needed Thursday morning. They were looking for a burglary suspect who was last seen running out the back door of a business.
An alarm drew officers to the Twigs, Glass & Gifts store near 90th and Blondo just before 3 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the man running away. They lost him in the area of 88th and Grant Street. A perimeter was set up, but the man was not found after a search.
Then someone called 911 to say a man was seen bleeding and looking disheveled at the QuikTrip store at 88th and Maple.
When officers arrived, they found the man they were looking for. Twenty-year-old Jared Wrehe was arrested and booked for burglary. Police reported finding blood inside the store and believe Wrehe cut himself while breaking into the business.
