A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Pawnee and Richardson counties in southeast Nebraska until 3 p.m. Thursday.
Burglars are caught in the act by a sheriff’s deputy Sunday morning. The Cassgram reports at 8:21am the Cass County deputy was in the area of the Brown Bottle bar at 108 Main Street in Union when he observed suspicious activity involving a motorcycle and a male party near the entrance to the business.
Deputies then determined that the male party and a female party had forced entry to the apartment area of the building and later forced entry through the ceiling of the business to steal several bottles of alcohol and food items.
Jonathan D. Nelson, age 34, Lone Jack, Missouri and Kacey M. Easley, age 19, Corvallis, Oregon (who said she recently moved to Lincoln) were both arrested on suspicion of burglary and criminal trespassing, 1st degree, says Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann.
