A burglar has entered a plea in connection to the theft at a Union bar last summer.
The Cassgram reports 34-year-old Jonathan D. Nelson pled guilty to theft by taking, $200 to $500, a Class I Misdemeanor. Nelson, who gave a Missouri address at the time of his arrest, had faced a felony burglary charge but agreed to the lesser charge as part of a plea agreement.
It was a Sunday morning in August when a Cass County sheriff’s deputy noticed a motorcycle parked outside the Brown Bottle Bar.
It was then determined that Nelson and a female party had forced entry into the burned-out apartment area of the building and later forced entry through the ceiling of the bar to steal several bottles of alcohol and food items, said the sheriff’s report.
Nelson will be sentenced April 2nd and is to make restitution totaling $250.
A similar plea deal is pending with the female, 19-year-old Kacey M. Easley, of Corvallis, Oregon, said the prosecution.
