Buddy baseball made its debut Monday night at Bellevue East High School.
The Bellevue Baseball Boosters teamed up with the Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands. Approximately 30 players from Bellevue East and West played with 17 kids in front of parents and other fans.
Bellevue Booster Club’s Jean Parette said, "For the kids, I mean, you should just see their faces. They're running, they're having so much fun, it's just great! For the boys, it's just awesome to be able to give back to the kids."
Organizers say they would like to get more buddies involved next year as well as JV and freshman baseball players.
