Yet another brush fire that ignited Sunday threatened homes in northern Lancaster County.
Homeowners in rural Raymond, Nebraska got worried when a fire from Branched Oak Lake approached their houses. Some say the flames grew were within 30 feet of their homes before they evacuated.
Firefighters from Valparaiso and Raymond responded to the blaze. Homeowners are just thankful crews were able to respond quickly before the fire got out of hand.
"They were here for about five minutes before they told us to evacuate," said homeowner Nathan Walker. "If it wasn't for them and the first responders, our homes wouldn't be here."
No homes were affected and no one was hurt. Firefighters have not determined the cause of the blaze just yet.
