A 36-year-old Brazilian man has been ordered to stand trial on three charges of first-degree murder in the Omaha slaying of the man's employer and the employer's wife and son.

On Wednesday, a police investigator recounted what the prosecution says happened to Vanderlei Szczepanik his wife, Jacqueline, and their 7-year-old son, Christopher. They disappeared in December 2009.

Jose Oliveira-Coutinho is one of three men suspected of the
killings. Valdeir Goncalves-Santos has pleaded guilty and has implicated Oliveira-Coutinho as the ringleader. A warrant has been
issued for the third suspect, who's in Brazil.

The investigator says a baseball bat was used in beating Vanderlei Szczepanik to death, and his wife and son were hanged. The bodies were tossed into the Missouri River and have not been found.
