Gov. Terry Branstad has made leadership changes at two Iowa agencies.

The executive director of the Iowa Agriculture Development Authority,
Jeff Ward, has resigned at the governor's request. And the governor
has demoted chairwoman Elizabeth Robinson of the Iowa Parole Board.

Branstad chief of staff Jeff Boeyink says the governor wants the
authority to improve integration of its programs with state agriculture department initiatives.

Sen. Tom Hancock, D-Epworth, whose subcommittee oversees funding for the Parole Board, says Robinson often failed to confer with
lawmakers on budget issues. Hancock also says Robinson slowed
efforts to release rehabilitated prisoners in a timely fashion.

The governor promoted former Rep. Doris Kelley, a Democrat, to
chairwoman.
