Police have identified the Omaha woman who they say fired a shot after a struggle inside of an ambulance, striking an Omaha firefighter and herself. 24-year-old Justine Dubois' boyfriend found out about it today.
Hugo, who would not give his last name, said he planned to marry Dubois. "We were going to get married. I don't know what exactly happened. I know she has a warrant because we got pulled over here in Bellevue one time and she didn't go to court I told her to go to court, she never did she didn't have a ride," Hugo said.
As far as Hugo knows, Dubois did not have problems with her health or drugs. He can't believe the woman he plans to marry could cause all this trouble.
"I'm shocked. I mean she was always there when I needed her she always helped me out and I tried to help her the best I could but I don't know exactly what was going through her head," Hugo said.
Hugo says he still plans to marry Dubois. The paramedic is at home recovering from his injuries.
