With the winter months approaching quickly the Boy Scouts in Sarpy and Douglas Counties have launched a new Snow Corps program to help Wounded Warriors after snowstorms.
On Monday Mayor Jim Suttle along with representatives of the Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council, and the U.S. Marine Corps announced the program.
The program connects boy scouts with Wounded Warriors in their neighborhood so they can help to clear driveways and sidewalks after a snowstorm.
Boy Scouts who are not yet involved, but would like to sign-up can visit: www.mac-bsa.org and click the “Community Service” link at the top of the page to register.
Wounded Warriors interested in enrolling should contact Craig Howell, Chief Service Officer in the Mayor’s office at 402-444-5000.
