Boy Scouts Awards Program
The Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council held its annual awards show Saturday evening.
Channel 6’s own Brian Mastre emceed the event. The awards reception was the setting for handing out youth scholarships and recognizes the high achievements of the young men.
Silver Beaver Awards were also given to long-time members of scouting, including Larry Ruffner, who has been involved with scouting for more than 50 years.
One current scout, Jack Klitgaard, was recognized for selling $6,130 worth of popcorn. Jack said he sold the popcorn the old-fashioned way, door-to-door.
