Lincoln police said a 3-year-old boy is in the hospital after he fell from a third-story window Wednesday afternoon.
A postal worker reportedly found the young boy crying and lying on the ground outside an apartment at 1315 North 47th Street around 2 p.m. She called 911 and the boy was taken to BryanLGH West.
According to police, the mother said she'd just laid her son down for a nap in his bed. She said he apparently climbed on some furniture and pushed the screen out of the window. Police said she was unaware of the fall and the boy may have been laying on the ground for several minutes before the postal worker discovered him.
Police said it's a miracle the boy survived the initial fall. The extent of the boy's injuries is unknown. No citations have been issued.
