WOWT 6 News was on hand Friday to see a business near 175th and West Center show some generosity.
NorthStar Financial Services Group raised more than $18,000 for the Food Bank of the Heartland to honor Patrick Clarke, the owner who died in a plane crash a year ago.
With the help of Hy-Vee, employees were able to turn that into 30,000 pounds of food and a $3,000 check.
Todd Clarke told us, “We are doing this is to help to empower the community, which is to give back and to provide for others that are in need. We couldn't think of a better way to do that, than, food was a good way to do that."
Two semi trailers brought in the food to transfer into the Food Bank’s truck.
