Philadelphia is a little farther than most were expecting to go, most projections had the Jays heading to Kansas City or Salt Lake City but as just a 7 seed but nothing was a guarantee.
It could be called the first taste of what Creighton fans will look forward to next year, flying out east to cheer on Bluejay basketball.
A quick search for flight and hotels in Philadelphia revealed package deals ranging from $1,000 to $1,600 and flights along could cost fans $700 to $900, early Monday morning.
That is where Dora Bitsos with Travel Leaders in Omaha near 84th & West Center Road said fans could call or stop by to let her and her travel pros take over the booking process.
Bottom line, Bitsos said it will be tough all the way around booking any flight or hotel package at any sort of discount. Flexibility is the name of the game. "Every flight has different inventory as far as discounts. If your price is what you are trying to contain you need to be flexible to be able to combine different times of travel. So, flexibility is always important," Bitsos said.
One of the bigger obstacles in booking travel plans at this point, Bitsos said, navigating spring break travel. "It's going to be tough, fans are going to have a hard time finding availability because it is spring break and people have been planning their spring travels, since the beginning of the year. They are actually now traveling, it is going to be heavily booked, and all of the flights are maximized at this point,’ Bitsos said.
Don't forget about the tickets.
Creighton University tells fans, they recommend purchasing official NCAA ticket packages from PrimeSport. That web site is ncaa.com/hospitalitiy.
Fans looking to buy tickets from other fans at the official NCAA Ticket Exchange can do so, that website is ncaa.com/ncaaexchange.
