A judge set bond at $50,000 Monday for Nicholas Marescalco. He’s accused of manslaughter in connection with the death of his fiancé, Sharlee Arnett.
Investigators believe Marescalco intentionally ran his truck into a light pole near John Galt Boulevard and Q Street.
The crash happened at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 6th.
Marescalco was injured in the crash. He was charged last week.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said, “You know, his driving in this case appears to be reckless or at least willful reckless driving. Uh, we don't find anything in the investigation that shows he hit his brakes - anything other than he just drove and he just crashed into this pole, that his unlawful action, driving in the manner that he did, caused this young woman's death."
Marescalco is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on August 13th.
