Bond set at 10 percent of $50,000 for a Zanesville, Ohio man who police say was drunk when he crashed his vehicle last week, killing a passenger.
Evan Shiplett was treated for injuries from the crash and booked for motor vehicle homicide.
Police say the 30-year-old Shiplett lost control of the pickup on the westbound I-480 off-ramp to North 30th Street.
His truck went off the highway and rolled over, ejecting 19-year-old Matthew Doty of Council Bluffs, who died. Another passenger, 18-year-old Jacob Levene of Neola, Iowa, was not hurt.
Shiplett's preliminary hearing has been scheduled for October 9.
