Fourth grader Hailey Owens' body was likely found in a house in Springfield, Missouri.
Springfield police say Owens was found in suspect 45-year-old Craig Michael Woods home. Wednesday Woods was charged with first-degree murder for the abduction of the 10-year-old.
Witnesses say Woods snatched the girl and put her in his pickup truck.
"He opened his door and said come here for a minute. and she walked up to his truck and as soon as she got in hand's reach he grabbed her threw her over him into the passenger seat and took off," said Carlos Edwards, a witness.
An Omaha police officer who speaks to children about safety awareness says children should never approach a vehicle.
"We ask that they don't approach, walk away, walk in an opposite direction, run away if they have to, and get to a place where they can get assistance," said Officer Jennifer Nelson.
Authorities say Woods was a middle school football coach in the Springfield School district, but not at Owens' school. Police say the two apparently did not know each other.
