Repair of the Missouri River boat ramp is sent to the city engineer -- Olmsted and Perry Engineering will come back to the Plattsmouth City Council with more on the scope of the project and the fees involved.
The Cassgram reports City Administrator Erv Portis wanted council’s opinion on whether to proceed with repairs on the ramp and park. “There is a tremendous amount of damage” from last year’s flooding, said Mayor Mike Bowman.
Other communities along the river are restoring their riverfronts, said Councilman Pat Dugan, “I’d hate to see us not do the same. It gets a lot of use.”
Portis said the very preliminary repair estimate is $100,000. Federal and state disaster assistance programs have “obligated” 87.5% reimbursement if the project keeps moving forward, he said.
