Bluffs Home Invasion Investigated

A Council Bluffs family is rebounding from the terror of a home invasion. Three men broke in around 9:45 Tuesday night demanding money.

The robbers wore masks, they were armed and they were violent.

Police reports state that the men entered the house through an unlocked back door, catching 56-year-old Beverly Breeden by surprise.
She said, “I was laying in the bed watching TV.”

Beverly’s daughter was in her bedroom with a friend and Beverly said, “They held a gun to me and went into her room.”

While the criminals were in the house they became violent and took things out on Beverly’s 16-year-old daughter.

Beverly said, “He was standing by my dresser, had a rifle pointed at me, told me to shut up. Then they went into her room and they were hitting her and hitting her and I said, ‘why are you hitting her? She’s a little girl and you're men.’”

The three men left the home after Beverly’s 18-year-old son gave up his wallet. They got away in a brown Durango.

The 16-year-old victim was taken to Mercy Hospital with minor head and rib injuries. She is expected to recover.

If you have any information on this home invasion, you're asked to call Council Bluffs Crime Stoppers at 712 328-7867.
