The state of Nebraska will have two teams in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1991 and they would meet if they win their openers Friday in San Antonio.
No. 3-seeded Creighton will open against No. 14 Louisiana and No. 11 Nebraska will play No. 6 Baylor.
Creighton (26-7) is in the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row. Nebraska (19-11) had to sweat until its name was called, but it didn't take too long. The Huskers are in the tournament for the first time since 1998.
Florida is the overall No. 1 seed for the tournament and is seeded first in the South. On Thursday, the Gators play the winner of a First Four game between Albany and St. Mary's. Kansas earned the No. 2 seed in the South and will open against Eastern Kentucky.
Arizona earned the No. 1 seed in the West region. In the Midwest, Wichita State claimed the No. 1 seed. At 34-0, the Shockers are the first team since UNLV in the 1990-91 season to begin a year with 34 consecutive wins. Louisville, despite winning the first-ever AAC Tournament championship, landed a No. 4 seed in the Midwest region.
The Final Four starts April 5th in Arlington, Texas.
