There’s a lot of blue in New York City. Fired-up Creighton fans are revving the motor of a home court advantage for the Jays.
Coach Greg McDermott said, “Our fans are incredible. They have supported us all year long. The fact that so many people made it out here really means a lot to our team and also puts a lot of pressure to win the first game. So they can at least spend of the weekend here. I'm glad we got the job done for them and look forward to seeing them tomorrow."
Senior Ethan Wragge said, “It’s unbelievable to say we are 1,000 miles away from Omaha and we are still bringing the most fans to support us make us important, get us fired up so we don't play in an empty arena, makes it even better they are Creighton fans."
Junior Austin Chatman said, “It’s big. That gives us a jump. We get a lot of energy from the fans."
With game two on Friday night, one fan told us, “It’s looking good so far. It’s been a great tournament with Villanova going down."
Can the Jays go the distance?
Another fan said, “So far, from what I have seen, it’s a lot of defense. Anybody can score and shoot a good percentage, they are going to win the game and I think Creighton can do that."
This Big East Tournament could be the start of an annual trip for Creighton fans.
