A bicyclist was injured in a traffic accident at 42nd and Poppleton over the noon hour Tuesday.
Witnesses say the injured man was traveling north along 42nd Street when he made his way into the intersection and was hit by an SUV.
Witnesses say the SUV driver was looking left, waiting to turn and never saw the man on the bike.
Witness Tommy Vasser told us, “I seen it. I knew the accident was about to happen but I couldn't do anything to stop it because I was driving. I seen her pull off from the stop sign but you know if she would have waited a few more seconds and looked to her right, it could have been prevented. But it was an accident still the same.”
The bicyclist was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with serious injuries.
It was not immediately clear if the driver was cited.
