Urbandale authorities say a 4-year-old boy was saved by his bicycle helmet when he was struck by a vehicle that had been knocked into neutral by a toddler inside.
Police say the accident happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday.
The 2-year-old got into the vehicle and somehow knocked it into
neutral, allowing it to roll down a driveway.
The vehicle ran over the 4-year-old boy's head, which was covered by his helmet, and also struck a 7-year-old. Both children were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
