Betting On Breast Cancer Awareness
It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Council Bluffs casinos are getting in the spirit. Harrah's and Horseshoe's newest additions are hard to miss. The casinos have replaced the felt on game tables from green to pink.
The goal is to start a conversation as soon as someone walks in the door. "Our players come on property and it's in their face and they see it and that just really brings awareness," said Jill Beasley with Caesars Entertainment. “And sure enough people are asking questions, you know, what is this about and it's such a good opportunity for our employees to really share with them this is what we're doing and this is the reason why.”
The color change isn't all the casinos are doing. A mobile mammography unit will be stopping by both locations. Employee volunteers are raising money for research by selling pink wristbands.
