Benson ROTC Students Working To March In Normandy

For those who wanted to get dinner, and send local students on a trip of a lifetime, a spaghetti dinner at Benson High School was the ticket.

The Benson ROTC program has been raising money for a trip to Normandy to March in the 70th anniversary of D-Day parade.

Since the program found out, it's been working like crazy to raise funds.

To send 27 students to France, it's going to cost about $75,000.

Amazingly, the program has already raised around $55,000, but they haven't met their goal yet.

Wednesday night, they joined the Benson Culinary Arts program with a spaghetti dinner, to continue raising funds.

They dinner was free, but they accepted donations.

Colonel Michael DeBolt, of the Benson ROTC, says the opportunity is a big deal for students.

The ROTC students will continue fundraising in the months ahead.
