Benson Art Project Unveiled

Members of the community are invited to the Benson Theatre to participate in a public art project.

Plans are to paint 16 4x8 foot panels that are on display at the City County building. Once complete, those panels will form a big floral mural for the Benson Plant Rescue.

Art Director Mike Giron said, “This is going to serve as a screen for starter plants at Benson Plant Rescue so the plants don’t get burned in the sun. Kind of provides shade during the day but also is going to be a backdrop for community events.”

Angel Guardians, a group volunteering to help with the project, is a Vocational Rehabilitation organization for adults with special needs.

Anyone can volunteer to paint, 9 - 3 o’clock Monday through Friday at the Benson Theatre.

Organizers hope to have the mural finished by mid-April.
