A benefit has been set for Sunday, July 6th at SOHO lounge to raise money for the family of Timothy Marzettie, a recent Omaha homicide victim.
The funds raised will go to pay for Marzettie's funeral.
The two suspects linked to the home invasion and murder of Timothy Marzettie appeared in court Tuesday for a bond hearing. The man accused of pulling the trigger, 26-year-old Corleone McCurry, was denied bond.
McCurry is charged with first degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
In court, prosecutors said McCurry broke into Marzettie's home, near North 36th Street and Hartman Avenue, on June 25; Marzettie begged McCurry not to shoot him, but McCurry allegedly shot him once in the chest. It's still unclear what led up to the murder.
McCurry's girlfriend, 22-year-old Brittani Brown, was also arrested as an accessory. Prosecutors said she knew about the crime, even went as far as to post about it on Facebook, but didn't report McCurry to police. She is pregnant with his child.
A judge set bond at $75,000 for Brown.
Both Brown and McCurry are scheduled to be back in court on August 6.
