Bellevue is about to get a new voice on the City Council. Steven Carmichael took more than 63 percent of the vote in a special election on Tuesday in a race to complete an unexpired term.
The unoffical tally is listed in the chart on the right, including total vote and percentages from the Sarpy County Election Commission in the Ward 1 race.
Steven Carmichael was the top vote-getter with 607 and more than 63 percent of the vote. Dave Compton drew 256 votes with the rest of the field far back.
With registered voters numbering 6,167, the turnout was 15.55 percent. A total of 958 votes were cast.
There are nine Provisional Ballots left to be researched to determine their eligibility to be counted. The Election will be certified by the canvass board on October 22nd and final certified election results will be released at that time.
