Bellevue Police Work To Raise Money For New Memorial

The Bellevue Police Officers Association are currently selling raffle tickets in an effort to raise money for a memorial statue that will sit outside the new Bellevue Police Headquarters building.

According to the Bellevue Police Officers Association, the memorial will consist of a granite base displaying a replica of a BPD badge in the center. Images associated with the Department will displayed on each wing of the memorial. The Department’s core values will be engraved along the front of the base. Sitting atop the memorial will be a 6-foot bronze statue of an officer greeting the citizens of Bellevue as they arrive at the new public safety facility.

To raise money, officers are selling raffle tickets to win a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle. The drawing will be May 30th at 3 p.m. at Bellevue City Hall and tickets are $20 each.

Gift cards to Dillon Brothers Harley Davidson will go to 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Tickets will be available until May 30th, 2014 at 2:00PM unless all 2,500 tickets are sold out prior to that time.

$200,000 is needed to construct the memorial.

The new public safety building is expected to open at the end of May.
