Metro grocery stores had something in common on Tuesday -- long lines. Many people are stocking up on basic supplies before the impending snowstorm.
Plenty of bread and milk went out the doors at Hy-Vee at 132nd and Dodge.
"It's busy and everyone knows why," said customer Nickie Vondra.
The store will have its Thursday delivery truck arrive a day earlier because of the impending snowstorm.
By the way -- did you know frozen pizzas are always big sellers before a storm?
"24-hours we were out," said Brandt Karstens, who only needs to look back at the December storm to see impact.
He's loading up on firewood since power went out at his Valley home then.
"Ice melt and ice cream. They go together don't they?" said Leslee Bartlett. She's expecting the grandchildren to spend more time at her place because of the storm.
Customers we talked with noticed other long lines around the metro -- at gas pumps.
