Only days after bedbugs were found in a University of Nebraska-Lincoln dorm room, staff members have found the pests in more rooms.

Sue Gildersleeve, the university's housing director, says the bugs were discovered in another room and a student lounge in Abel Hall, as well as a room in another dorm.

Earlier this week, Ashleigh Auman reported the bugs to university officials when her roommate was bitten on her arms and legs after they returned to their ninth-floor room in Abel Hall from winter break.

UNL has hired an exterminator and paid to have the students' bedding and clothing cleaned. The university plans to do the same with the two other rooms where the bugs were found.

In June, bedbugs turned up in a laboratory used as office space by the university's College of Engineering.
