A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for eastern Gage, Johnson and northwestern Pawnee counties in Nebraska until 2:45 p.m. A tornado watch is in effect for parts of southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa until 10 p.m. Sunday.
A rural Meadow Grove, Nebraska man is dead following a one-vehicle crash about four miles northwest of Battle Creek in the northeast part of the state.
Fifty-year-old Samuel Ahlman was killed in the Thursday evening crash. State Patrol investigators say Ahlman's vehicle was northbound on a rural road when he lost control, entered a ditch and rolled and he was thrown from the vehicle.
Ahlman was taken to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk and pronounced dead.
