A bar that opened for business only months ago in the north-central Iowa town of Burt has been destroyed in a fire.
Firefighters were called to Farley's at 1:48 a.m. Friday. Fire Chief Nick McGuire says the north side of the building and its upper floor were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. No one was injured in the fire and fire crews managed to keep the flames from spreading to other buildings.
Farley's opened in the spring. McGuire says the cause of the blaze is not known, but that the State Fire Marshal's Office will investigate.
