Three community banks in Nebraska have been awarded federal loans to give small businesses more access to capital in an effort to grow and create jobs.

U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson announced the loans. The Nebraska Democrat supported the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010, which established
the Small Business Lending Fund that provided the loans for the
Nebraska banks.

The three Nebraska banks in Nebraska to receive the federal loans are: First State Bank in Lincoln, which is receiving $12 million; Adams Bank & Trust in Ogallala, receiving $21.9 million; and Banner County Bank in Harrisburg, getting $2.4 million.
