Nebraska public television's long-running gardening show "Backyard Farmer" is now proving to be a hit online.
The show is consistently among the top views on YouTube and
iTunes U, an online program that distributes educational materials
through the popular iTunes Store.
The "Backyard Farmer" has aired on NET since 1953.
The show features a panel of gardening experts who answer viewers' questions about insects and disease, turf, fruits and vegetables, landscape design and general horticulture topics.
Show producer Brad Mills says the show is often in the Top 10 of
YouTube's science category and has been No. 17 overall on iTunes U.
Mills says people who move away from Nebraska and miss the show
often go online to see it.
