An alleged shoplifter was caught following a chase and search around Omaha's Village Pointe Mall Friday afternoon.
Police were called to the Scheels store where a man who allegedly stole several knives was being chased by an employee around 3:45 p.m. Police officers and Douglas County Sheriff's Department deputies joined the pursuit into a wooded area northwest of 168th Street and West Dodge Road.
During the search, the suspect was bitten by an OPD police dog after hiding under some leaves and refusing to surrender. He was taken to Lakeside Hospital for treatment. Thirty-year-old Justin Seffron was later booked for shoplifting and obstructing police.
