Jail time ordered for domestic assault. In a bench trial a few weeks ago, Cass County District Court Judge Randall Rehmeier found 29-year-old Randy L. Halderman Jr. of Louisville not guilty of strangulation, a Class IV Felony.
The Cassgram reports Halderman was found guilty of domestic assault, a Class I Misdemeanor, and interfering with a public service company (pulling the phone cord out of the wall), a Class II Misdemeanor.
Halderman had been free on bond in the months after his arrest and preceding the trial, but checked into the Cass County Jail voluntarily before his sentencing hearing last week during which Halderman was given a six month jail sentence.
