Domestic violence case brings jail time.
The prosecution and defense recommended a sentence of six months in the county jail for 31-year-old Michael Ashcraft Jr., and that was agreed to by the judge.
The sentence is being served concurrently with a six month sentence given last week in Cass County Court.
The Cassgram reports Deputy Cass County Attorney Steve Sunde said both cases originated from Ashcraft’s entry into a Plattsmouth residence between 4am to 4:30am on May 1st of this year. The county court conviction is for the assault of the female adult who resides in that residence. The district court case involves Ashcraft’s pushing of the woman’s 13-year-old daughter.
Sunde said the daughter was awakened and came to the aid of her mother. Ashcraft shoved the girl across the room and into a doorjamb causing pain to her side, said Sunde. The girl did not require medical attention.
Ashcraft had resided on and off at the residence before the incident.
