Dionte Dortch is facing charges in an assault case that’s linked to a leader against violence.
Barbara Robinson is part of Impact One, an anti-violence group in Omaha. She says her daughter was assaulted.
Police arrested Dortch. We're told he used to work at Impact One but was let go.
A police report states that Dortch believed Robinson's daughter was spending time with a gang member and that's what sparked the attack.
Robinson said, "It really saddens me, but also, I always try to look to the good of things. So I want people to know that you have to stand up. You can't continue to just let people treat you just any old kind of way."
Dortch is being held on $50,000 bond.
