Southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri until 4 a.m. Sunday. This includes Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln.
Jeffrey Glazebrook's conviction for the murder of an elderly Ashland woman in the 1970's was overturned, but because of actions during his trial, he faces more than 30 years behind bars.
Glazebrook, 52, was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison for each count; witness tampering and terroristic threats. The sentences will run concurrently and he will be required to serve at least 20 years in prison.
“This man’s continued disregard for the law proves he is a threat to society,” said Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning. “We’re pleased the court recognized this danger and put Mr. Glazebrook behind bars where he belongs.”
According to the attorney general, during Glazebrook’s 2009 murder trial in Saunders County, he attempted to clandestinely threaten to kill a testifying witness. He was observed doing so by several jurors.
Glazebrook was ultimately convicted of murdering an elderly woman, Sadie May McReynolds, in that trial. However, the conviction was overturned by the Nebraska Supreme Court due to the erroneous admission of evidence of Glazebrook’s sexual and physical assaults of other women.
