Second Person Arrested For Kruger Fundraiser Theft

Omaha police have arrested a second person, 26-year-old Kristin Hunt, in connection with the theft of items intended to raise money for the family of murder victim Andrea Kruger.

Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies had already arrested and charged 50-year-old Jeffrey Johnson on suspicion of felony theft.

On Friday, September 27, the Deja Vu Lounge, where Kruger had worked, hosted a fundraising event and the organizers later discovered that a 50" plasma television and a framed picture of the University of Nebraska's Memorial Stadium had been stolen. The items had an estimate value of more than $700.

Authorities say Johnson and Hunt sold the stolen items to EZ Money Pawn Shop. Investigators say the pawn shop will return the property to the rightful owners.

Johnson had served as a volunteer at the fundraiser.
