Authorities have arrested 20-year-old Nicholas Carlson for his alleged involvement in an August carjacking that left the victim hospitalized with serious injuries.
Carlson faces charges of robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony related to the incident happened on August 9.
Twenty-seven-year-old Brandon Baldwin told police he was getting out of his car at the 90th and Fort Walgreens just after 8:30 p.m. when two men approached. He said one was armed with a gun and the other man beat him.
The suspects drove off. Baldwin sought help and made his way to a home about a half-mile from the scene of the crime. Omaha Fire and Rescue took him to the Nebraska Medical Center for treatment.
A short time after the incident, police were alerted to a reckless driver and suspicious activity near 100th Street and Grand Plaza. Officers found the stolen car there. It had been abandoned. Witnesses said they saw a man running from the vehicle.
