According to the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles, a man is in custody after several search warrants were served Thursday morning. The search lead to the recovery of a half dozen stolen vehicles.
The DMV Fraud Unit worked with investigators from both the Nebraska State Patrol and Omaha police to crack the case.
Searches were conducted by law enforcement at four homes in Omaha on Thursday morning.
A total of six vehicles were found.
According to the DMV, the search followed a nearly six month long investigation and the investigation into the possession and sale of stolen vehicles is still ongoing.
"We are glad to be able to identify and stop criminal activity which victimizes citizens in Nebraska," Rhonda Lahm, Director of NE Department of Motor Vehicles said in a statement to WOWT 6 News.
Vehicle parts and other items were also seized, and additional charges are pending.
At this point, the identity of the man arrested has not been released.
