Police have made an arrest in a series of robberies at Omaha area pharmacies.

Today the Ralston Police Department announced an arrest warrant was issued for Anthony H. Anderson, a 22 year old male, in connection with the armed robbery of the Walgreens Store at 8380 Harrison Street, Ralston, NE, on Monday, May 26, 2014. Anderson was located by Omaha Police Department in the area of 72nd and Spring Street and arrested.
During the robbery, one male suspect entered the store, walked back to the pharmacy area, displayed a handgun, and demanded narcotics from an employee. The suspect took several bottles of narcotics and left the store last seen heading southbound toward 80th and Harrison Street.
A short time later, officers were dispatched to the area of 86th and Madison Street reference Omaha Police out with an abandoned stolen vehicle. The vehicle was taken during a burglary of a residence in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where an elderly female was robbed at gunpoint.
This vehicle was linked to the Walgreens robbery that occurred minutes earlier. After three persons were seen leaving this vehicle, they were observed a short time later near a business in the area of 85th and Park Drive where a Chevy Silverado pickup was stolen. This truck was observed in several areas of Omaha over the next week and was possibly used in another robbery. This information was gathered after the robberies from cooperating witnesses.
Aware of several robberies in the metro area involving pharmacies, the Ralston Police Department prepared an Investigative Bulletin outlining the incident as well as photos retrieved from the security cameras. A meeting was held with members from the Ralston Police Department, Omaha Police Department, Council Bluffs Police Department, La Vista Police Department, Bellevue Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Information was shared between all agencies, as well as with local media and several suspects were developed.
At this time, the Ralston Police Department is still pursuing other leads that may result in arrest warrants for additional suspect (s) that may have also been involved in this crime. Anderson was possibly involved in other crimes in various other jurisdictions.
Anderson had a valid warrant issued for robbery, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a controlled substance on Friday morning.
