An armed man who threatened an Omaha convenience store clerk Sunday morning fled the scene without his gun after the clerk took it away from him.
Police say the suspect entered the Kum & Go at South 72nd and Pacific streets around 5 a.m. after pumping gas and attempted to pay with an EBT card. After being told he couldn't pay with the card, the suspect left the store. When the clerk followed him outside the man allegedly pulled a gun, which the clerk was able to grab. The suspect then went back inside and tried to pay with a debit card, which was also denied.
The suspect then returned to his vehicle and drove off, heading westbound on Pacific Street.
