The trial lasted over a week. On Wednesday, a jury returned a guilty verdict for the first-degree murder of Dejuan Johnson, who was killed in September 2011 near 55th and Ames. He was 19 years old.
Antwan Jones was spotted by a responding police officer running from the scene and was arrested a short distance away. Jones was found guilty of first-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
He will be sentenced in December.
